13 Uses for a Bag of Holding

  1. Fill it with rocks. Because you never know when you'll need two hundred pounds of rocks.
  2. Fill it with water. The extradimensional space is a nice crisp sixty degrees, so you can have cool water no matter where you are.
  3. Fill with ice and rocks, then empty the bag by tipping it over. Now you have one hundred pounds of crushed ice!
  4. Create the ultimate extinction-level event by combining with another Bag of Holding or a Portable Hole. Preferably, do this by remote. For extra bonus points, by remote and positioned so the extradimensional explosion is centered on the main bad guy's fortress.
  5. Make a bluff check to stash a weapon inside the bag before being searched. Extra bonus points awarded if your hand is still on the hilt when they search, but they don't notice.
    "Oh, that? It's a bandage. I injured my hand ..."
  6. Fit a magical artifact inside, fold the bag so that it is nearly flat, and slide under a troublesome door.
  7. Execution chamber. Assuming the opening is big enough to secure around someone's head. There's no need to get it past the shoulders so long as you can bind their arms.
  8. Rig up to an animal trap so the rabbit (or other creature) is smothered to death for you. No longer will the squeamish have to beat the animal until it stops moving! They still have to skin it, though.
  9. A great inconspicuous storage place for that zombie slave when you're walking around in a Good or Neutral town.
  10. Fill it with many objects that make loud noises: bells, cymbals, pots, pans, etc. Untie the ends and chuck it to where you'd find it most convenient to have a distraction.
  11. A secure bomb detonation facility. Don't believe bombs are all that common in a medieval setting? Where have you been, and who have you been gaming with?
  12. Collecting bounties is so much more viceral when you can stroll through the city streets with thirty heads in a bag, and no one will notice.
  13. Go back in time to before the creation of the universe. Gather up the single piece of protomatter and put it in the bag. When the universe is formed, all things being equal, the universe is of net zero weight, so it should still be in the bag. Some people say this has already happened ...
